 COMMON FEELINGS AFTER A SEXUAL ASSAULT

 
Sexual assault victims may experience any of these feelings:
  • Fear
  • Anxiety
  • Distrust
  • Anger
  • Guilt
  • Depression
  • Embarrassment
  • Helplessness
 
Victims may also experience:
  • Nightmares
  • Eating Disorders
  • Sleeping Disturbances
  • Ritual searches
  • Flashbacks
  • Lethargy
  • Hyperactivity
  • Feeling Crazy

 

None of these feelings are unusual.  Talking to an advocate or a             counselor can help you address them and begin healing.
