However, if you’re not sure whether or not you want to report but you have questions or want to talk about what happened to you, you can call Safe Shelter or the SANE crisis line (at the numbers listed above) any time.
You do not have to give your name or any other identifying information unless you choose to. An advocate from Safe Shelter can answer questions you may have about what will happen if you do report, and can talk to you about what kinds of reactions and feelings you might experience as a result of your rape.
A nurse from the SANE crisis line can talk to you about any medical concerns you may have as a result of the assault and can answer questions about sexually transmitted infections or pregnancy. Both can also refer you to other agencies that may be helpful to you.
